Avengers

Lately I've been buying Marvel compilation books in an effort to learn from the art style that such a company employs; and its VERY difficult.

Comic book artists dont get the credit they deserve, they put A TON of work in and because of the nature of their work people often dismiss the art due to the content (superhero's), which bugs the hell out of me.

These guys have skills, hardcore. Its admirable really and as an "artist" i think i owe it to myself to learn something from such skill.

This image started as a simple study of Captain America, a character that despite his greatness really hasnt "broken through" as a mainstream staple of comic book character excellence, often overshadowed by the popularity of characters like spiderman and ironman. From there i decided to add in the other characters.

All in all I had a great time working with these characters and the artstyle. I recommend every self respecting artist take the time to figure out how such an art style has evolved over the years and to integrate the discipline and creativity it embodies.
